But People are Wrong… on the Internet!

While I know it’s a waste of time, and that I’m not effectively convincing anyone of anything, I can’t help but get into arguments on the internet about polyamory.

It just drives me crazy when people make blanketed statements about how open relationships can’t work, or can only work under certain conditions. Especially true when they clearly have no idea what they are talking about.

Worse when I chime into to contradict their statement, then I get the flock of people who tell me that I’m selfish and my husband must be a cuckold with low self esteem who cries himself to sleep every night. In this narrative, I am an asshole who had nefarious plans all along to coerce him into it.

Of course nothing could be farther from the truth. And I know I could just avoid being annoyed by avoiding internet discussions on the subject. But… I just can’t help it. I cannot let mis-information stand. Sometimes I can’t believe the intolerance and hypocrisy of what people say.

I think starting this blog has quelled my inclination to get into it on forums. Its nice having my own little corner of the internet to say whatever I want. But so long as I wander and find people who are wrong on the internet, I’ll probably stop to say something.
